BECOMING CATHOLIC
The time spent learning about Catholicism is a time to learn about God, and at the same time, a time to meet myself again.
To become a Catholic, one must receive the sacrament of baptism. Before baptism, one undergoes a period of instruction in Catholic doctrine and religious life. After baptism, one becomes a member of the Church and lives out the calling entrusted to him or her by God's grace.
This baptismal preparation education is called 'catechism for catechumens.'
In the parish, priests and nuns teach catechism to catechumens, and the training period lasts approximately one year.
If you wish to become a Catholic, please visit the church in charge of your area of residence.
If you come to the church office, you can receive detailed information about the admission process and the doctrine for catechumens.
