About Catholicism...

In 1941, during the Nazi regime's genocide of Jews, the Nazis decided to starve ten Jews to death in retaliation for the escape of a prisoner from the Auschwitz concentration camp. One of the men, a man chosen, tearfully pleaded for his life, thinking of his wife and young child. Then, one man stepped forward: "I have no family. I will die instead."
He gave his life to save others. That man was none other than the Catholic saint, Father Maximilian Kolbe . He was willing to give his life because it was the love he believed in, the love shown by Jesus Christ .

Two thousand years ago, there was a remarkable man in Israel. He stood up for the poor and the weak, refusing to yield to the threat of death. Ultimately, at the young age of thirty-three, he was crucified by those he hated.
But it wasn't the end, but a new beginning . Jesus was resurrected, and people began to understand that God raises those who die for love. Jesus is the Son of God who came to show us this truth.

The Catholic Church began with resurrection
And the Catholic Church began with the resurrection of Jesus Christ . Those who recognized the risen Lord resolved to live like Him and formed a community. This is the origin of the Catholic Church .
Christianity has spread throughout the world over the past two thousand years, and believers are living and practicing Jesus' life and spirit, keeping his words, "Love one another as I have loved you," as the greatest commandment.

The Catholic Church is one community.
The Catholic Church, also known as the "Catholic Church," means " universal church ." It is a single community, sharing the same faith and performing the same liturgy, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, or language. It actively works throughout the world to spread the love and peace of Jesus Christ to humanity.

The Catholic Church strives for unity even among divided churches.
Protestantism, Anglicanism, and Orthodoxy are all fraternal churches that branched off from the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church prays and works to ensure that these communities of faith, rooted in the same God and Christ, can move toward reconciliation and unity.

The Catholic Church in Korea has saints who are revered all over the world.
In the late 18th century, enlightened scholars like Yi Byeok, Jeong Yak-yong, and Kwon Cheol-sin came to believe in God through studying Catholic books imported from China. The Korean Catholic Church is unique in that it is not a faith introduced by missionaries, but rather a faith Koreans themselves embraced through their own search for truth .
Even amidst harsh persecution, countless ancestors sacrificed their lives to protect their faith, and their martyrdom became the precious roots of the Catholic Church in Korea today.
